Bolster Repairs Pinky/Red
This car had previously had its bolsters repaired. During this repair the bolsters were sprayed a orangy colour. Now the top bolster had a hole in it and the bottom bolster losing its colour again. Initially it was cleaned by the leather repairs technician. This is done using leather cleaner and a lint free cloth. Next the technician uses leather prep to prep the bolsters. Similarly this is done using a lint free cloth. Once the areas are fully prepped then the dirt, debris and manufacturers coating has been removed.
First the technician uses a heat compound leather filler to fill the hole in the leather. After applying the leather filler the technician uses a heat gun to set the filler.
Secondly the leather filler is dried the technician uses 320 grit sandpaper to sand down the bolster to completely smooth it out. Following this they use 400 grit sandpaper to finish off smoothing it out.
Once sanded down the technician applies a base coat of leather dye. Again this is done using a lint free cloth. Initially the technician has to mix the pinky/red colour of the bolsters. Lastly the technician uses air compressor to spray the bolsters. This is then dried using a hairdryer. Finally the technician applies lacquer. This is used to seal and protect the repairs to the bolsters.
On Going Maintenance
We advise that all leather is cleaned and protected every six months. This allows the leather to stay clean and fresh and the protection cream gives that extra barrier between the wear and tear and the sofa.

We offer a yearly maintenance plan for all customers that have had our full restoration service. This is where you get a reduced fix price for us to visit every year to undertake a full clean and minor repairs for the price of our standard clean package.
